For all you assassins out there, we have all the latest details from Ubisoft on what we are likely to see in Assassin’s Creed III’s multiplayer mode. This comes shortly after Ubisoft released some awesome new screenshots from the multiplayer. Check them out here.
First of all, a new 4v4, ‘King of the Hill’ style game mode entitled Domination has been added to the game. In this game type, two teams of four players fight for control of three areas of the map. Once captured, points are earned for ‘owning’ the spot. However, it’s not that simple, as you will have an unknown pursuer trying to kill you, much like Brotherhood and Revelations.
A bunch of new characters and maps will also be added into the gameplay, the first of which to be seen is called The Northwest Passage, which includes a huge ship to explore during the game. Three characters have been confirmed so far, with many more to come. These characters are The Commander, The Carpenter and The Lady Maverick.
Environment use is also another feature to be added to the multiplayer, this allows players to do things such as collapse walls on enemies, which we assume would gather you more points. None of this has been seen in action as of now, but it looks likely that the new cover system from single-player will also be integrated into the epic multiplayer.
We can also confirm that dynamic weather will be a feature. Assassin’s Creed III: Now with Added Fog.
Yet another feature is the addition of a third ability slot, along with several new weapons including a poison dart, allowing you to perform delayed kills easily. On top of these is a new perk called Unstoppable, which allows you to run through chasebreakers and dense crowds to help guard you from your oncoming pursuer.
That’s all the details we have, and all we can handle, for now. The multiplayer will hopefully, as it always has been, top notch. We can’t wait to get our hands on a copy (hint, hint, Ubisoft?)
